Granular weak link Josephson devices

Conference · · AIP Conf. Proc.; (United States)
OSTI ID:5472157
Weak links incorporating granular Al, Nb, and NbN have exhibited a variety of Josephson phenomena ad show high promise as SQUID elements, mm-wave detectors, and possibly switching devices. Current theoretical ideas indicate that a vortex-flow model should be used to explain these results. Several pieces of experimental evidence are in coflict with this model, and suggest that a true Josephson effect is involved.
