K umlt a hler potentials for matter scalars and moduli of Z sub N orbifolds

We present a method for calculating the K{umlt a}hler potentials of the moduli and matter scalars of {ital Z}{sub {ital N}} orbifolds directly from string theory. The explicit K{umlt a}hler potentials for the moduli and {bold 27},2{bold {bar 7}} matter scalars, and the corresponding coset manifolds, are given for any (2,2)-symmetric {ital Z}{sub {ital N}} orbifold. This work provides a string-theoretic explanation of the origin of no-scale models in superstring theories.
