The effect of nonmagnetic impurities on the superconducting transition temperature T/sub c/ is studied. It is shown that, for impurity concentrations x of the order of 0.1--1%, the gap in the electron excitation spectrum becomes isotropic. When the concentration is increased further, T/sub c/ ceases to be dependent on x. For such values of x, a general expression is derived for T/sub c/ which holds for an arbitrary form of the superconductor Fermi surface.
