An analysis of regional hydrography and nutrient and suspended sediment chemistry data are analyzed for Boca de Quadra inlet and Resurrection Bay, Alaska. The character and transport of suspended sediments are discussed. Other topics include: benthic flux and near bottom reactions of heavy metals in fjords; deep water exchange in Alaskan sub-arctic fjords; sediment-seawater exchanges of nitrogen and transition metals in an Alaskan fjord; reaction and flux of manganese within the oxic sediment and basin water of an Alaskan fjord; deep water renewals in Resurrection Bay, Alaska; the behavior of iron; manganese, and zinc in a heavily polluted river-estuary system.
