Exports and the antitrust laws: problems and solutions

Currently pending in Congress is the Export Trading Company Act of 1981 that would clarify precisely when American businesses operating overseas are subject to American antitrust laws. The Act encourages business cooperation to increase exports. The mining industry, coal in particular, is on the verge of an export boom and can be a primary beneficiary. 26 refs.
