The 160 mi Hayden-Ault powerline project, completed in 1978 in northern Colorado and southern Wyoming, is described. The project's planning, location, construction techniques, components, and environmental impact are discussed. The completed power transmission system represents one of the most innovative, efficient, and environmentally sound projects ever initiated by USBR. (2 photos)
