Quasiline fluorescence spectrum of pyrene vapor

The investigations carried out showed that under certain conditions pyrene molecules in the gaseous phase, like the previously investigated molecules of anthracene, 9-methylanthracen, beta-naphthylamine, phenanthrene, and 1-chloroanthracene, produce a well resolved quasiline spectrum, which depends on the excitation frequency, the temperature, and the pressure of the vapor. It was also found that in the case of pyrene vapor, there is a definite frequency range for excitation of the quasiline spectrum, within which variation of the excitation frequency causes displacement of the quasiline spectrum.
