A Fortran subroutine has been developed to provide realistic projections of recoverable gas from solution-gas-drive oil reservoirs. The subroutine, called GOR.FOR, can be easily integrated into existing petroleum economics software and replaces more tedious and time-consuming analysis. A trial-and-error procedure is usually necessary to obtain the smooth, continuous GOR-vs.-cumulative oil curve that would be expected. A further complication is related to the producing economics limit of the property. Obviously, different GORs near the end of the producing life will change the producing economic limit and productive life of the property. Therefore, you may want to fix the final GOR for economic calculations. The Fortran subroutine overcomes these complications by: eliminating any trial-and-error procedures; generating a smooth continuous realistically shaped GOR-vs.-cumulative oil production curve; allowing input of specific values of initial GOR, final GOR (at the economic limit), and gas reserves (or average GOR); allowing selection of several possible shapes for the GOR-vs.-cumulative oil production curve while holding the other input values constant; being easy to use; and allowing projection of condensate production from retrograde-condensate gas reservoirs.
