A water distillation apparatus is disclosed which produces distilled water by means of solar energy. The water to be distilled is confined within an internal chamber and subjected to solar energy through a transparent lid. The water that is distilled collects on the interior surface of the lid. The lid is located at an inclined position with respect to gravity. The droplets of distilled water which adhere to the interior surface of the lid flow to the lowest elevation of the lid. These accumulated droplets of distilled water are to be removed and collected within a collecting container. A water inlet valve assembly is connected to supply water within the internal chamber.
