Integer-charged quarks in the SU(5) grand unified theory

The potential and symmetry-breaking constraints necessary to obtain an integer-charged quark model with broken local (but conserved global) color symmetry are discussed. Such a model is identical to that of Pati and Salam in the SU(3) x SU(2) x U(1) known-interaction fermion currents. Some implications of the model are discussed.
