The authors study the spatial correlation of cylindrical waves propagating in randomly inhomogeneous refractive waveguides. They consider the scattering of a wave from anisotropic fluctuations of the refractive index, and from the roughness of the boundary. An analytical solution is obtained for the transverse correlation function of the normal modes in waveguides with an arbitrary power-law profile of the regular refractive index. Refractive waveguides are important in the study of the propagation of electromagnetic waves in the ionospheric waveguide.
