Search for baryonium states in the reactions pi-d. -->. p(forward) p(spectator) X-- and pi- d. -->. p(forward) n(spectator) X- at 13. 2 GeV/c

Several final states containing a nucleon-antinucleon pair in conjunction with a fast forward proton are examined. The apparatus used for detection was the SLAC 2-meter streamer chamber with a downstream spectrometer. No statistically significant evidence is seen for the existence of a charge -2 exotic meson or any other previously unreported state. A small bump is seen at 2.22 GeV in the (anti p n) mass distribution opposite a forward delta(1232). Another enhancement is seen at 2.07 GeV in the (p anti p) mass spectrum for the final state p anti p n.
