(p, Vector,. pi. /sup +-/) reactions on Be at 650 MeV

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:5444463
Angular distributions of the differential cross section and the analyzing power for the /sup 9/Be(p vector, ..pi../sup +/)/sup 10/Be and the /sup 9/Be(p vector, ..pi../sup -/)/sup 10/C reactions have been measured at 650 MeV. A phenomenological comparison, based on a model for pion emission from the target nucleus, is made between the analyzing power from the (p vector, ..pi..) data and polarization data from ..pi..N scattering. 7 refs., 4 figs.
