Book ·
OSTI ID:5444129
Large quantities of solid wastes, principally flue gas desulfurization (FGD) wastes, fly ash, and bottom ash (or boiler slag) are produced by a coal-fired utility or industrial boiler. FGD wastes and coal ash together are generally called flue cleaning (FGC) wastes. This book presents a review of the data and information available on generation of FGC wastes; disposal options including current practice, research and development and field studies; and utilization practice including technical and economic assessment of current practice and research and development studies. The book emphasizes wastes produced by commercially demonstrated technologies and where data were available, by technologies in advanced stages of development.
