Nuclei in the Skyrme model
Technical Report
·
OSTI ID:5443444
The application of the Skyrme model to nuclear physics is discussed. A new approach is presented in which nuclei are identified with static soliton solutions in the appropriate topological sector. When this approach is applied to the deuteron, it yields automatically the correct spin, isospin, and parity quantum numbers.
