Forces on naturally roughened cylinders were measured for Reynolds numbers between 2 X 10/sup 5/ and 2 X 10/sup 6/ and inclinations of 0 to 40/sup 0/. Results demonstrated the validity of the flow-independence principle in postcritical flow. Drag coefficients agreed with published values for artificially roughened cylinders. Strouhal numbers of about 0.21 were observed.
