This article addresses the design and retrofitting problem of the the Midland Cogeneration Venture. The plant has a combined cycle scheme comprised of 12 Asea Brown Boveri (ABB) Type 11N gas turbines and a high pressure steam turbine retrofit. The gas turbine, generator auxiliaries, electrical equipment, air intake sustem and silencers are part of a comprehensive, proven, high performance modular system for power plants, enabling quick and easy erection.
