Real-time signal processing with FPS array processors

Book ·
OSTI ID:5436148

The authors discuss real-time signal processing with the FPS programmable array processor (AP). This AP is designed to attach as a peripheral device to a host machine, either a minicomputer or mainframe. The basic AP consists of a host interface, multiple independent memories, parallel pipelined floating-point adder and multiplier, and a control/integer processing unit. For real-time signal processing applications in which the throughput rate exceeds the capability of the host computer, independent input/output (I/O) interfaces are available which provide direct access to the AP for external input and output devices. 2 references.
