Plan for technological research and development related to the petroleum activities on the Norwegian Continental Shelf, 1981-85
Technical Report
·
OSTI ID:5434086
To efficiently exploit its outer continental shelf, Norway must give high priority to several R and D areas: deepwater production platforms, deepwater storage and loading, subsea production systems, multiphase transport, reservoir studies and enhanced oil recovery, materials corrosion and corrosion protection, environmental effects, and personnel education and training. The environment and geography of the Norwegian shelf present great technical challenges to the exploration and drilling industry, such as the development of marginal fields and the conversion of gas to alternative energy carriers. Norway's Council for Scientific and Industrial Research reviews these problems and defines the research work needed to solve them.
