Modern spreadsheet programs can provide a remarkable capability for quick and easy solutions to a broad range of small: and possibly large: physics, engineering, and astronomy problems. This usage can go far beyond the original applications of spreadsheets as accounting aids. However, sharp instruments can cut both ways, and these programs can be dangerous to the unwary user in providing quick and pretty collections of incorrect answers. Several spreadsheet techniques are shown by example; advantages and drawbacks are discussed.
