Journal Article · · Conserv. News; (United States)
OSTI ID:5429324
The Dickey-Lincoln hydroelectric project, located on the Upper St. John River near the Canadian border in the northeastern U.S., was proposed in the 1930's and authorized for construction in 1965. Conservationists have blocked the project claiming that costs of the project far outweigh its benefits. The financial, social, and environmental costs and benefits of the project are examined. Congressional proponents and opponents of the project are listed. The Nat'l Wildlife Fedn. has testified that it is opposed to the Dickey-Lincoln project. (2 drawings)
