Reliability, availability and maintenance-costs models for use in the design of photovoltaic power systems

Two techniques were developed for modeling the availability and maintenance costs of photovoltaic power systems. Their use permits the incorporation of reliability and maintenance cost considerations during design. The paper describes the technical approach, the techniques developed, the input data required, and the output information generated by the techniques. Flowcharts and example inputs and outputs are provided to illustrate the techniques' capabilities.
