This text intended for beginning and intermediate-level reservoir engineers and researchers presents the basic principles involved in constructing a mathematical model to simulate hydrocarbon reservoir behavior. The contents of the book are divided into chapters entitled: overview of reservoir simulation; elementary mathematical concepts; properties of reservoir rocks and fluids; reservoir flow equations; finite difference approximations; single-phase multidimensional flow; and multiphase flow, percolation, and variable bubble point problems.
