Two-loop analysis of sin/sup 2/theta/sub W/ and M/sub X/

Journal Article · · Phys. Rev. D; (United States)
The solutions of the renormalization-group equations (RGE's) for the coupling constants g/sub i/ are given at the two-loop level. Using the massive renormalization scheme, we determine the boundary condition just from the one-loop constants. To apply the solutions to grand unification theory we also give a general formula for the two-loop contribution of the light Higgs fields to G/sub 1/ x G/sub 2/ x G/sub 3/ gauge theory. Putting all together we predict the values of sin/sup 2/ theta/sub W/ and M/sub X/ for the minimal for SU(5) model. Through a two-step massive renormalization we get another version of the solution of the RGE's which is used to predict the value of sin/sup 2/ theta/sub W/ and M/sub X/ for the SU(5) model with various particle contents, including heavy generations of fermions and other Higgs bosons.
