The present conference discusses topics in undercooled metallic phases and microstructures, techniques of undercooling and metastable phase formation, and theoretical and experimental treatments of undercooled solidification. Attention is given to the effects of supercooling on solute distribution, undercooling and nucleation in Fe-Ni alloys, undercooled phases in Al-Fe alloys, metastable states in pulsed laser quenching, drop tower and long drop tube technology, and microstructural evolution in undercooled glass-forming alloys. Also discussed are the solidification of undercooled alloys, interface response functions for rapid alloy solidification, interfacial supercooling, and dendritic growth in a supercooled alloy melt.
