OSTI ID:5414014

A three constant model is developed describing the rheological behavior of drilling fluids and cement slurries. The proposed model and the former ones, the Bingham, power law, Herschel-Bulkley, Casson, RobertsonStiff, were tested with the measured data for a total number of seventy one drilling fluids and cement slurries of which twenty of them are presented here. The results, in general, conform to the proposed model with a high degree of accuracy. Flow equations, based on the proposed model, are also developed for both pipe and annular flows.
