Interpretation aspects of offshore VSP data

Conference · · Offshore Technol. Conf.; (United States)
OSTI ID:5412083
A data set, comprising a vertical seismic profile (VSP), logs, and a seismic section, is discussed primarily in terms of stratigraphic interpretation of seismic events. The logs are presented in their original forms, as well as in interpreted forms suitable for comparison to seismic data. The VSP data are processed for comparison to the seismic section. A simple estimate of the frequency content of the seismic signal with depth is made. The importance of using a full suite of logs in the interpretation of seismic data is illustrated.
