Solid-waste codisposal screening study. Topical report, January 1985-March 1986

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:5410259
Gasification of lignite, as that underway at Beulah, North Dakota, results in solid and liquid wastes, some of which may be considered to be hazardous. The majority of the solid waste is produced as gasification wastes. Two of the liquid wastes produced were studied in the codisposal screening study and are multi-effect evaporator concentrate (MEEC) and liquid-waste incinerator blowdown (LWIBD). Adjacent to the gasification plant is the Basin Electric Cooperative Antelope Valley Station coal-combustion plant. Both scrubber and bottom ash are produced from the plant and were used in the study. The technical basis for the codisposal of these waste streams is what is explored in the report.
