A computer model of the recrystallization process is proposed which incorporates both microstructure and crystallographic texture using a three dimensional lattice. This model is applied to the recrystallization of cold-rolled interstitial free (IF) steel, assuming oriented nucleation at the grain boundaries. The nucleation mechanism is implemented using the concept of subgrain coalescence. This model provides the quantitative information of a change in the volume fraction of the recrystallization, the grain size distribution, and the crystallographic texture.
