Liner reciprocation equals better cement jobs

Journal Article · · World Oil; (United States)
OSTI ID:5406536
Although some still might consider the practice risky, operators at Prudhoe Bay have developed techniques to safely reciprocate the liner during primary cementing. And since pipe movement during slurry flow is an efficient method of improving mud displacement, cement job quality is enhanced. The authors describe equipment used, with emphasis upon fail-safe liner hangers, and detail cementing procedures that have been successfully applied to more than 20 jobs in the area.
