Impedance measurements can continuously check the state of porous electrodes during their use. In this paper, the authors examine the possibility of investigating the structure of porous electrodes while electrochemical processes occur at them. This possibility would allow determination of the structure of the active mass of lead-acid battery negatives. The calculations were based on the analysis concerning the impedance of a single pore with arbitrary character of the impedance at the pore walls. Plots are offered of imaginary against real impedance component of the charged, active mass after the fifth discharge cycle, and also of imaginary against real impedance component of a smooth lead electrode. A plot of the real impedance components of the charged, active mass against the active components divided by angular frequency is presented, as is a plot of imaginary impedance component of the charged, active mass against the given quantity.
