Role of iron sulfides stoichiometry in the direct liquefaction of coal

Conference ·
OSTI ID:5401548

It is found that the stoichiometry of the iron sulfides is determined by the H/sub 2/S partial pressure and that greater activity is observed when the surface is rich in vacancies. There is great affinity of the sulfides towards cleavage of oxygen bonds in coal and model compounds. 10 refs., 2 figs., 1 tab.
