The blasthole drill is described. This new drill is primarily intended for surface coal mining. The drill, called Rotamec 130, is capable of drilling holes in the 15.2 to 20.0 cm range and its expected capacity is 240-250 m/8-hr shift or 0.8 m/min in sandstone using rotary cutting.
