System for the stabilization and tuning of the emission frequency of a dye laser

Journal Article · · Sov. J. Quant. Electron. (Engl. Transl.); (United States)
A system for the stabilization and tuning of the emission frequency of a dye laser was developed. The tuning range of the system was 1000 MHz and its short-term stability was 10/sup -8/. The tuning was provided by stabilization with the aid of a Fabry--Perot interferometer the length of which was kept constant using radiation from a single-frequency tunable He--Ne laser (lambda = 0.63 ..mu..). The emission frequency of the He--Ne laser was controlled by varying the difference between its frequency and that of a stable LG-77 laser.
