This patent describes a stage collar for a cased well cementing operation, in which fluidized cement is conducted through the stage collar and deposited into the surrounding substrate to form a well casing sheath. The stage collar including: a shell defining an elongated chamber, means forming inlet and outlet cement flow openings at opposed ends of the elongated chamber, at least one secondary discharge port in the casing communicated with the elongated chamber, a flow control sleeve operably positioned in the shell to regulate cement flow through the cement discharge ports. The sleeve comprising: a first sleeve segment having a first internal annular shoulder which defines a primary cement discharge port at the shell outlet opening. The first sleeve moveable to open the secondary discharge port. A second sleeve segment having a second internal annular shoulder which defines an inlet port for directing the cement flow into the elongated chamber. The second sleeve movable to close the secondary discharge port the combination with: an elongated actuating tool which is operable to position the second sleeve segment with respect to the secondary discharge port.
