Journal Article · · Oil Gas J.; (United States)
OSTI ID:5393975

This study presents an overview of the system employed to control the mainline gas turbines and crude-oil pumps used on the 747-mile Saudi Arabian East-West Petroline. This pipeline is a 747-mile, 48-in. curde-oil pipeline composed of 11 mainline pumping stations and 2 pressure-reducing stations. The control system for the mainline pumps, gas-turbine drivers, pipeline suction, discharge, and bypass valves, and the auxiliaries and ancillaries are discussed. 2 refs.
