Sialons for engineering and refractory applications

Sialon ceramics are sinterable silicon nitride derivatives. They have properties which, in the sintered state, make them extremely attractive for engineering and refractory applications. They combine the desirable properties of silicon nitride such as strength, hardness and heat resistance with improved properties such as toughness, chemical resistance and sinterability. 11 references.
