Extraction of metals from alkaline solutions by impregnated sorbents

The interphase distribution of zinc, manganese, gallium and europium between alkaline solutions and a macroporous polymeric sorbent, impregnated by 8-hydroxyquinoline and alkylphenol, was studied. The influence of the composition of the aqueous and solid phases on the distribution of metals and extractants was examined. It was shown that the physical distribution of the complexes has a decisive influence on the extraction of metals.
