Origin of Unidentified Structures in Resonant Dissociative Photoionization of H{sub 2}

We present theoretical evidence that strong interference effects between resonant and nonresonant amplitudes are responsible for unidentified peaks observed in recent experiments on dissociative photoionization of H{sub 2} . We show that, at photon energies smaller than 27eV, the various peaks can be explained in terms of a single {sup 1}{Sigma}{sup +}{sub u} doubly excited state. {copyright} {ital 1997} {ital The American Physical Society}
