A system is disclosed for transmitting, storing and utilizing cold which includes the use of either natural cold ambient air or mechanical refrigeration equipment for transmitting cold air to freeze water in containers installed in the cold storage chamber. When an air-conditioning system in a cooling environment is in operation, air in the air-conditioning duct will be circulated through the cold storage chamber and then returned to the duct for cooling requirements. The system provides for seasonal cold storage which can be effectively and efficiently used during the warm seasons for space cooling and cold storage.
