Holland has prepared a report describing an analytic assessment of the technical and financial feasibility of modifying the existing municipally owned power plant to supply heat to the community college, a Parke-Davis plant, a Heinz plant, and businesses along the main street of this small Michigan city. The report provides preliminary costs of delivered heat using either steam or hot water and explores the criticality of the heat demand of each major customer and compares their current energy costs with costs of providing heat through the proposed district heating system.
