Patent ·
OSTI ID:5383960
This patent describes a fuel combustion apparatus. It comprises a housing defining an interior chamber for containing a fuel under pressure, the housing defining a fluid passageway in fluid communication with the interior chamber and extending out of the housing; a nozzle mounted to the housing in fluid communication with the fluid passageway; a flow control valve mounted in fluid communication with the passageway intermediate the nozzle and the interior chamber for regulating the flow of fuel from the interior chamber to the nozzle wherein the flow control valve comprises a first closure means intermediate the nozzle and the interior chamber for closing off the interior chamber from the nozzle, a second closure means intermediate the first closure means and the nozzle for closing off the nozzle from the first closure means and control means for opening and closing the first and second closure means, and anti-sputter valve means mounted in fluid communication with the passageway intermediate the nozzle, and the chamber for substantially preventing the flow of liquid fuel therethrough while allowing the flow of gaseous fuel therethrough, the anti-sputter valve means comprising a first micro-porous member.
