Dispersive K/sub L/. --> mu. /sup +/. mu. /sup -/ contributions, neutral-kaon mixing, and mass of the top quark

Journal Article · · Phys. Rev. D; (United States)
We estimate the K/sub L/..-->..2..mu.. weak amplitude from data, by relating the dispersive K/sub L/..-->..2..gamma -->..2..mu.. amplitude to that of eta..-->..2..mu... Allowed bands of mixing angles THETA/sub 2/, THETA/sub 3/ are determined from this weak amplitude. The bands overlap those from analyses of K/sup 0/-K-bar/sup 0/ mixing, with rather loose constraints on the t-quark mass which depends sensitively on the bag factor B. For B = 0.4, m/sub t/ is likely to be less than 75 GeV.
