This article reports on the United New Generation Vehicle Conference to explore the world of electric, hybrid, and alternative-fuel vehicles. Developing affordable vehicles that produce little or no exhaust emissions has proven to be a difficult task for automakers. Depending on how far emissions regulations go, developing equipment sensitive enough to detect the tiny amount of pollution that tomorrow`s cars are expected to emit will be a task in itself.
