Lead poisoning has a low but steady incidence among cattle in southeastern Pennsylvania. During the past five years, 15 cases were found among the 611 local bovine necropsies. In many cases the veterinarian had not suspected lead poisoning as the cause of death. This paper discusses forms of lead poisoning, clinical signs of poisoning, post-mortem changes in tissue from poisoned animals. Toxicological analysis of tissues, and the diagnosis of lead poisoning.
