Organization of Arab Petroleum Exporting Countries: history, policies, and prospects
The analysis begins with OAPEC's formation in 1968, as a means of resisting pressure to embargo oil importers who supported Israel. The origins of the 1973 boycott during the Yom Kippur War are examined, showing how that step affected subsequent OAPEC policy.
