Thermopower measurements are reported in several perfect epitaxial YBa{sub 2}Cu{sub 3}O{sub 7} thin films above 80 K. A prominent peak was observed both in the in-plane and out-of-plane thermopower ({ital S}{sub {ital ab}} and {ital S}{sub {ital c}}) and it is associated with the perfectness of the crystal structure of the sample. Above 140 K, {ital S}{sub {ital ab}} is almost temperature independent with small positive value (about 0.2 {mu}V/K), and {ital S}{sub {ital c}} increases with linear temperature dependence. The slope {ital dS}{sub {ital c}}/dT is about 2.6{times}10{sup {minus}2} {mu}V/K{sup 2} which is much greater than expected in a metal.
