We report the second of a series of experiments on selective photoionization of mercury isotopes in which we show that radioactive atoms containing either isomeric form of the radionuclide /sup 197/Hg can be selectively ionized in the presence of natural mercury isotopes by doubly resonant three-step laser photoionization, and discuss its implications as a test case for nuclear-isomer separation.
