GKNT Scientific Council on the problems of new processes in the coking industry
In 1982 the Krivoi Rog Coke Works hosted a conference of the Coal-Coke Section of the GKNT Scientific Council on New Processes in the Coking Industry. The following reports were presented and discussed: a report by UKhIN on An analysis of the coal supply to Ukrainian coking plants in the Tenth Five-Year Plan and the effect of unplanned shipments on the technical and economic indices of plant operation, a report by VUKhIn on Results of operation and problems of investigations to develop a technology for charge preheating using the heat of the hot coke at the Krivoi Rog Coke Works, and the Giprokoks report On new technical advances and layout of coke batteries with ovens 41.6 m/sup 3/ in volume. Yu. Ya. Filonenko, from the Lipetsk Polytechnic Institute, presented a report on the topic Effect of coke quality on the technical and economic operating indices of a blast furnace.
