The results of plume measurements performed at the Tennessee Valley Authority's Paradise Steam Plant to determine the effect of power plant-cooling tower plume interaction on sulfate production is described. Plume sampling experiments were conducted during the morning shortly after 0800 CDT and during the afternoon beginning shortly after 1300 CDT. The meteorological and chemical rate data, averaged over the individual sampling periods are presented, and the sulfur species mole ratio (SO/sub 4//sup 2 -/)/(SO/sub 4//sup 2 -/) + (SO/sub 2/) are given as a function of plume travel time.
